ArmInfo. Iran offers gas to Armenia at a higher price than Russia. On April 4, Deputy Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of Armenia Hayk Harutyunyan stated at a press conference in Yerevan.
According to the Deputy Minister, despite many years of negotiations between Yerevan and Tehran, the Iranian side offers the Armenian side, as well as a friend to its neighbors, to purchase gas at a price that exceeds the cost of Russian "blue fuel". The deputy minister refrained from commenting on the recent words of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Seyed Kasem Sajjadi that Tehran is ready to sell gas to Yerevan at an acceptable price if there is an interest from the Armenian side. Nevertheless, as the representative of the Ministry of Energy stated, negotiations in this direction continue both within the framework of the Gas for Electricity Project and for direct supplies of fuel to the Armenian consumer. However, the price at which Iran offers gas, Hayk Harutyunyan did not name, explaining this as a "commercial secret of the Iranian side."
