ArmInfo. Henceforth, it will be possible in Armenia, through a mobile phone, to identify and place electronic signatures to receive online services provided by both public and private companies. The pilot project was developed by one of the leading companies providing services in the field of mobile marketing and e-commerce in Armenia, . This was announced on April 6 during an event at which the company announced the application and signed a memorandum of cooperation with the coordinator of projects on e-government in Armenia - EKENG company and telecommunication companies VEON Armenia and Ucom.
Responding to a question from ArmInfo, the founder of Nikita Mobile, Ara Yahjyan, noted that the launch of the project is based on the government's decision that from April 1 all state-owned enterprises and private companies that provide online services, serve citizens through ID or Mobile ID. "Since January we have done a great job using the solution of well-known European developers, where the main component is security, on the basis of what our Armenian developers have finalized and created the model presented by us today," he said. Meanwhile, the company used its own funds to launch the project, without any state action.
According to him, the test period will last a little more than a month, after which the amount of the service fee will be determined. We expect that within 2-3 years the number of subscribers using the Mobile ID service in Armenia will be 50 thousand, "he stressed.
At the moment, 3 state organizations, and 2 private ones are involved in the project. In this regard, A. Yahjyan noted that the company is open for cooperation and is ready to provide the necessary support.
The Mobile ID technology allows for the electronic identification of a person to receive electronic services. The essence of the technology is that an electronic digital signature (personal key) of a citizen is recorded on a new generation SIM-card - USIM-card, which can be purchased from local mobile operators (so far only Beeline and Ucom). This SIM card will be connected with the Certification Center, which EKENG company will present in Armenia Office for the implementation of electronic government infrastructures. In Mobile ID, there is a system of two pin codes, the first of which is provided for identification itself, and the second one is directly for the electronic signature. The application on mobile phones can be activated both by the specialists of the TK-company and by the subscriber himself via the website www.mobileid.am. It is noteworthy that the application works on any phone of the brand, not even running on Android and iOS systems.
