ArmInfo. In Armenia, the first electro-accumulating plant will be built in experimental order. The Armenian government approved the concept of alternative accumulation and electric power management at a meeting on April 26. The purpose of the document is 18-20% of the electricity produced by gas-fired power plants replaced by renewable energy sources (RES), and the electricity from gas stations is sent exclusively for export.
Along with the development of RES, the Concept fixes the development of accumulating stations in Armenia. It is also noted that the document will stimulate investment in the sphere, which in turn will contribute to improving the level of energy security of the country. The government plans to submit to the parliament's court soon a strategy for the development of renewable energy for the next 10 years. Another government decision, approved the electricity tariff from solar stations - $ 0.0419 without VAT.
Previously, ArmInfo reported that until 2030 Armenia intends to have only nuclear and renewable sources of energy in the structure of domestic consumption. The thermal and gas stations will work for export. Currently, 8 heliostations are in the process of construction, the total installed capacity of which is about 8 MW. The Ministry of Energy plans to put them into operation before the end of 2018. Last year, three solar power plants started operating on the market - one in Kotayk, Armavir and Aragatsotn regions.
