ArmInfo. On 16 May, the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan received the President of the World Alliance of Information Technologies and Services (WITSA), Iwon Chui and the General Director of the organization Jim Polzant.
According to the press service of the Armenian government, during the meeting issues related to the World Congress on Information Technologies (WCIT) in 2019 in Armenia were discussed. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of holding such an event in Armenia and stressed that the government will do everything possible to organize and hold the forum at a high level. Nikol Pashinyan noted that the sphere of information technologies will be among the priorities of the Armenian government. He expressed the conviction that this sphere will become one of the main driving forces for the development of the country's economy.
Nikol Pashinyan and Ivona Chui will agree to form a joint working group that will begin to implement the work on holding the forum at the proper level. Iwona Chui noted that the World Alliance of Information Technologies and Services is interested in working closely with the Armenian government, presenting the experience of Taiwan in holding such a congress. It should be noted that more than 4500 delegates from 80 countries of the world are expected to attend the congress in Armenia. The World Alliance of Information Technologies and Services (WITSA), established in 1978, includes 82 leading world associations for information and communication technologies (more than 90% of the global ICT market).
