ArmInfo. The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia is considering the abolition of the accumulative pension system (APS). This was announced to journalists by the head of the department Mane Tandilyan on May 17 before the beginning of the meeting of the government. On the question of journalists, whether the APS can be suspended, the minister said: "We are considering".
Recall that from July 1, 2018, the mandatory funded pension system will become mandatory for all categories of citizens of Armenia. As of October 2017, as reported by the ex-Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan, the number of participants of the APS exceeded 180 thousand people.
Most of them are representatives of the private sector, and within the system, 80 billion AMD have been accumulated by management companies. Based on the results of three years, as a result of the work done in the direction of assessing the effectiveness of management, the funds increased by about 32%, which, according to the minister, is a fairly good indicator. "The specified amount is introduced into the relevant instruments and their return is guaranteed by law," the former head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection stressed.
