ArmInfo. GeoProMining Gold, which develops the Sotq field in Armenia and owns the Ararat gold extraction factory, refutes reports of strikes by workers at the enterprise.
The reason for such conjectures, as the company told ArmInfo, was another attempt by illegal gold miners from the Sotq deposit (the so-called "Bats"), by pressure on the company's management and staff, to gain access to the illegal mining of gold-bearing ore. In particular, from May 17 to 18, the "bats" blocked the way to the deposit and paralyzed the whole process, motivating their actions with political prerequisites - they allegedly are participants of the protest civil movement and are fighting for their "rights". Illegal miners demanded the resignation of the management of the Sotq deposit, which hamper their illegal activities in the field.
GeoProMining Gold once again reminds that unlawful actions of the "bats" not only deprive citizens of their rights to work, but also pripjatvuyut production disciplines, which can contribute to the company's losses, fraught with a reduction in the taxes it pays to the state budget of the Republic of Armenia and social responsibility. The company declares with full responsibility that illegal actions will lead to a complete halt to production, including the Ararat gold recovery plant, and partial paralysis of the SCR's work.
