ArmInfo. The French Safege Company will become a consultant of the project to restore and improve the interstate M-6 motorway (Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Georgian border). The decision on this was taken at a government meeting on May 24.
Representing the project, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of Armenia Ashot Hakobyan noted that the company will work on the development of town planning documents and will carry out technical control over the quality of construction works. A contract for the provision of advisory services will be signed with Safege. The project is implemented with the financial assistance of the European Investment Bank and the Asian Development Bank. It is envisaged, in particular, to modernize the 90-km section of the interstate road from Vanadzor to the Armenian border with Georgia.
The Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan asked if, afterwards, it turned out that after the relevant work there were questions about their quality, will this organization be responsible for this.
Ashot Hakobyan agreed, noting that sometimes some companies win construction contests at the expense of such small financial needs that control over the quality of work becomes impossible, as people can not control the quality and progress works throughout the day for extremely low wages.
