ArmInfo. Norfolk Consulting LLC, as of July 17, paid 721.4 million AMD to the state budget out of a total of $ 7 million, the press service of the State Revenue Committee reports.
According to the source, the remaining part of the debt to the state treasury is on the balance sheet of the company and will be repaid before July 20 this year.
SRC also reports that the company's elimination checks are in process of generalization.
Earlier, at a press conference, the head of the State Revenue Committee David Ananyan reported that the Norfolk Consulting company, which will be eliminated before the end of July, will be replaced by a company with state participation. At present, as Ananyan noted, the company continues its activities, fulfills its former functions (cargo transportation, customs clearance of documents) under the direct control of the Internal Security Department of SRC. Further, instead of "Norfolk" a new joint-stock company with state participation will be created. The new company will not duplicate the functions of the old one, but will carry out brokerage brokerage services. In addition, according to David Ananyan, the company recovered part of the damage to the state in the amount of $ 7 million, the remaining $ 5 million was promised to be restored until July 20th. "If the entire amount of damage is restored, then the criminal case on Norfolk will be terminated," he said.
It should be recalled that on May 25, the National Security Service of Armenia announced that, in the framework of its activities aimed at combating corruption and economic crimes, it disclosed a criminal scheme. According to the RA National Security Service, the large Norfolk Consulting company operating in Armenia, the customs declarer, performing customs services, maliciously evaded paying taxes, duties and other mandatory payments on an especially large scale. The company did not pay about $ 7 million to the state budget. On this fact, the Investigative Department of the National Security Service instituted criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 205 ("Evasion from payment of taxes, duties or other mandatory payments") and Part 2 of Article 308 ("Abuse of official authority, entailing by imprudence grave consequences ") of the RA Criminal Code. Until recently, there were about 7-8 organizations in the republic that dealt not only with cargo transportation, but also with the execution of customs documents.
