ArmInfo. In the sphere of economy, the Armenian government implements policies aimed at promoting exports. The Minister of Economic Development and Investments Artsvik Minasyan told journalists on September 3.
According to him, analysis of the export structure showed that in the first half of 2018 about 50% of the industrial production produced in Armenia is exported. Moreover, this percentage would be higher if there were not a decline in the mining industry by about 11.8% or 20 billion AMD.
The minister also stressed that about 60% of the drinks produced in Armenia are exported, 72% are tobacco, 75% are clothing, and about 56% are pharmaceutical products. As for the export of high-tech products, the figures are still insignificant and make up 2.2%.
In general, the total turnover in the first half of 2018 was $ 4.089 bln, the balance was $ 1.363 billion. According to him, in the first place in the export line is the Russian Federation (about 25%). , Artsvik Minasyan said. In terms of imports, Russia is also on the first place - 28.6%. This is followed by China (7.3%), Georgia (7.2%), Germany (5.5%), Iran (4.7%).
Speaking about tourism, Artsvik Minasyan stressed that in the first half of 2018, 685,970 tourists visited Armenia, which is 10.7% higher than the same period last year. With a tourist purpose, 610,900 people left Armenia, the growth in this part was 7%. "The number of tourists arriving and departing from Armenia was 75 000. Last year this figure was 52 000," Minasyan said, adding that 27.1% of tourists are CIS countries (up 14.7%), the share of EU countries fell 24% (growth - 43.3%) and 49.8% - to other countries. 52.5% of tourists arrived in Armenia for recreation and entertainment, 22.9% - with business mission, 1.5% - with the purpose of treatment, "the minister said, adding that in terms of domestic tourism, growth was registered at 17, 1%.
