ArmInfo. The Committee of Water Management of Armenia, together with the Commission for the Regulation of Public Services (PSRC), until November 1 of this year, monitors the actual volumes of water supply to small wholesale consumers. This is stated in the message of the RA Water Management Committee.
This measure, according to the source, is necessary to study the feasibility of the tariff for water used. Representatives of public organizations engaged in consumer rights protection also take part in the monitoring. As part of the event, it is planned to examine 2,700 water intake networks, of which 1,500 are in Yerevan. According to preliminary data, over 100 different violations have already been recorded in the capital of Armenia alone, which need to be discussed and investigated together with the company "Veolia Djur". Research continues in areas whose results will be summarized at the end of October. As a result of the research, companies that use drinking (chlorine) water for production purposes were also identified, but they are not subscribers of the Veolia Djur company and do not have relevant contracts, that is, de facto they do not use drinking water. As an example, the source cites a wine and brandy factory in the village of Voskevaz of Aragatsotn region. Moreover, the plant was built on the 4 water networks adopted by the Veolia Djur company for rental use, the largest of which, Ghazaravan, 500 mm in diameter, supplies Echmiadzin residents with drinking water. This fact creates favorable conditions for the illegal use of drinking water by the plant. And this is in conditions under which the provision of land for this kind of production space is unacceptable. In 2017-2018 and Veolia Djur, and the regulator and the water management committee repeatedly attempted to involve the plant in the legal field, turning it into a subscriber, but the latter refuses to accept the fact of using drinking water, prohibiting representatives of all organizations from entering the territory of the enterprise. On the eve, three representatives of various structures again tried to enter the factory, but the security service expelled them, and no one management of the company contacted the guests.
