ArmInfo. VEON Armenia company was fined 2 million drams for not coordinting the discount of the subscription fee of the alternative "Preferred" tariff plan with the Public Services Regulatory Commission. But, taking into account the proposal of VEON Armenia, PSRC approved the discount price of the "Preferred" tariff plan of 1100 drams (including VAT) valid until December 1 of this year. The PSRC report indicates that this issue was discussed on October 31 at a meeting of the Commission and the appropriate decision was made.
In particular, VEON Armenia, without reacing an agreement with the PSRC, established a discount of 200 drams, i.e. reduced the monthly subscription fee of the alternative "Preferred" tariff plan to 1100 drams, offering this discount price until December 1 of this year. Meanwhile, by the decision of the Commission of August 29, 2018, the monthly subscription fee of the alternative tariff plan "Preferred" was approved at 1,300 drams (including VAT).
The Law of the Republic of Armenia "On Electronic Communications" (3rd part of Article 30) stipulates that the discount on the cost of services subject to tariff regulation can be applied only after approval by the Public Services Regulatory Commission. Upon violation of this requirement of the law, PSRC initiated administrative proceedings against VEON Armenia.
