ArmInfo. In the first half of 2018, Armenia reduced exports of copper ore by 1.4% per annum (against a 20% increase a year earlier). This is evidenced by the data of the RA Customs Service.
The volume of copper ore exported in the first half of 2018 amounted to 218.8 thousand tons, the customs value of which increased by 15.3% per annum - to $ 286.2 million. Copper ore was exported to Bulgaria (49.4%), Switzerland (23.4%), Ukraine (15.6%), Romania (11%), Canada (0.6%), as well as to the UK, Georgia.A negative trend was observed in the export of molybdenumconcentrate, the volume of which decreased by 37.6%, against a growth of 2.6times a year earlier over the same period. Exported from Armeniain the first half of 2018, molybdenum concentrate was 350.1 tons,with a decrease in customs value by 14.6% - to $ 3.3 million. Exportaccounted for Belarus (94%), Russia (5.9%), as well as the United States.At the same time, exports of zinc concentrate increased by 26.6%(against growth of 52.2%) to 6 thousand tons, with the entire volume accounted forBelarus.
During the reporting period, the customs value increased by 49.7% - up to $ 10.7 million.In the first half of 2018, exports of ores containing precious metals increased significantly from 93.6 tons. up to 1.3 thousand tons. In terms of value, substantial growth was also recorded - from $ 96.7 thousand to $ 1.5 million. Moreover, almost the entire volume of exported raw materials (99.9%) accounted for Switzerland, as in the previous year.According to the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia, in the first half of 2018, the production of molybdenum concentrate decreased by 3% per annum - to 5,447 tons, against a growth of 6.9% a year earlier. The production of copper concentrate also decreased - by 18.6% - to 167.7 thousand tons, against a growth of 6.9% a year earlier. In the reporting period, production of zinc concentrate, by contrast, increased by 30.7% per annum - to 5,973 tons, against 29.5% growth a year earlier.
