In the long term, the French Veoila company is considering the possibility of transforming its representative office in Armenia into an operational center for the Caucasus and Central Asia region. This was stated by Malika Genduri, Vice President for Central and Eastern Europe of Veolia, the French water supply company, during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan. Malika Genduri noted that Veolia intends to continue its efficient work in Armenia and in cooperation with the RA government to achieve the goals set for the company and overcome the challenges. During the meeting, prospects for further cooperation were also discussed, in particular, issues related to improving the quality of water supply, reducing water loss and a number of issues related to the drainage system were raised.
To recall, the subsidiary of the French "Veolia Generale des Eaux" - "Veolia Jur" is the only operator of water supply and drainage in Yerevan and several regions of Armenia. Since January 1, 2017, the property of five companies has passed to Veolia Jur: Yerevan-Jur, Armvodokanal, Shirak Vodokanal, Lori Vodokanal and Nor Akunk.
