ArmInfo."Potential" program has been launched in Armenia. According to the press service of the government, after giving the go-ahead to the start of the program, Acting Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan noted that 2018 was a year of fundamental changes for Armenia, a new beginning and high hopes.
After the democratic velvet revolution and the most transparent, free and fair elections in the country, unique opportunities emerged for building a powerful progressive and developed Armenia. Tigran Avinyan stressed that one of the main tasks of the government is the implementation of the economic revolution. From an agrarian and mining country, the republic should be transformed into an internationally competitive, exporting state with high technologies that create additional values. This process, as noted by acting deputy prime minister will not be easy. It will be accompanied by numerous difficulties and challenges that must be overcome. However, as in the days of the revolution, and now, other results will not be accepted. To achieve these goals, it will be necessary to find non-standard solutions, show creativity and involve in this process not only the talent and potential of the people, but also the potential of the Armenians of the whole world.
In this context, the "Potential" program is an attempt for all Armenians, it will become one of the platforms for combining experience, knowledge and opportunities. Tigran Avinyan added that during the previous decades hundreds of thousands of people left Armenia, the country lost its scientists, entrepreneurs, and qualified personnel in various fields. The former governments mainly used relations with the Diaspora to beg for money, without offering anything in return. "Potential" is intended to break this one-sided principle of relations, and lays the foundation for a new quality of Armenia-Diaspora cooperation. For the first time, Armenia offers financial opportunities, professional training and a wide network of partnerships for 71 startups from 27 countries - from Australia to the Netherlands, from the USA to China. For the first time compatriots living abroad come to Armenia not "at the call of blood" or as tourists, but for the simple reason that their homeland gives them opportunities to develop their business, apply new ideas and achieve great success. Tigran Avinyan stressed that throughout its history, Armenians and Armenia were at the forefront of innovation, progress of science and creative solutions. In the modern world, no country can achieve a high level of stable development without knowledge, technology and human capital, and the government will contribute to the maximum extent to the implementation of innovative ideas and initiatives. He stressed that within a few days, program participants will become familiar with the ecosystem of start-ups, their features and available opportunities. There will be discussions with experts who have achieved success in their fields, will get acquainted with many successful startups. He called for the maximum use of the opportunities that appeared and, regardless of the final results, to consider Armenia as the main station for the development of startups, since in the near future scientific and technical achievements and bold decisions will be developed in Armenia.
