In January-September 2018, the list of the largest taxpayers in Armenia was headed by the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine (against the 5th position a year earlier), sending 32.8 billion drams to the state budget with a 2.5% y-o-y growth. According to the published data of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia, Zangezur Combine paid 13.4 billion drams - on direct taxes (including income tax, tax on profit), 19.4 billion drams - on indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax). Payments for customs duties of the Combine amounted to 894.2 million drams.
Last year, Gazprom Armenia, which for many years had led the list of the 1000 largest taxpayers in the country, came down to the second position. In January-September 2018, the company paid 30.3 billion drams to the state treasury, which is 5.6% less than a year ago, of which 5.1 billion - on direct taxes (including income tax, tax on profit) and 25.2 billion - on indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax). Payments for customs duties amounted to 208.5 million drams.
The Grand Tobaco Company went down to the third place from last year's second position, which during the reporting period transferred taxes to the state budget amounting to 27.7 billion drams, with a y-o-y growth of 25.3%, of which 7.2 billion - on direct taxes (including income tax, tax on profit) and 20.5 billion - on indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax). Payments for customs duties amounted to 2.5 billion drams.
The fourth place was secured by Alex Holding, which transferred 14 billion drams to the state budget for the reporting period, with a y-o-y decline of 13%, of which 1.6 billion was in direct taxes (including income tax, tax on profit) and 10.7 billion - on indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax). Payment of customs duties amounted to 4.7 billion drams.
CPL Oil Corporation rose from last year's 7th to the 5th position, , which sent 13.1 billion drams to the state budget in the first 9 months of 2018, ensuring a y-o-y growth of 43.5%, of which 108.8 million - on direct taxes (including income tax, tax on profit) and 13 billion - on indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax). Payments on customs duties amounted to 2.6 billion drams.
During the reporting period, the five leaders paid 118 billion drams to the state budget in terms of taxes, exceeding the transfers of last year's Top 5 by 15.3%, of which 27.5 billion were in direct taxes (including income tax, tax on profit) and 88.8 billion - on indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax). Payments for customs duties of the TOP- 5amounted to 11.1 billion drams.
GeoProMining Gold (12.4 billion drams) also entered the TOP-10 of major taxpayers - it took the 6th place, just like a year earlier; Philip Morris Armenia (10.1 billion drams) - 7th place against 12th a year earlier, ''Electric Networks of Armenia'' (9.8 billion drams) - 8th place against 3rd year a year earlier; International Masis Tobacco (9.3 billion drams) - 9th place as in the previous year, and JTI ARMENIA (8.7 billion drams) - 10th place against 11th a year earlier.
A total of 1,000 largest taxpayers in Armenia for the first 9 months of 2017 paid 580.8 billion drams to the state budget, ensuring a y-o-y growth of 11%.
To recall, in January-September 2017, the five leaders paid a total of 102.6 billion drams in taxes to the state budget. TOP-5 was headed by Gazprom Armenia, the Armenian-Canadian Grand Tobacco joint venture ranked second, Electric Networks of Armenia ranked third, Alex Holding company ranked fourth, and Zangezur copper-molybdenum combine ranked fifth.
