ArmInfo. Armenia agreed with Gazprom on preserving the domestic gas tariff, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told RIA Novosti.

Gazprom sells gas not to Armenia, but to Gazprom Armenia, therefore  our role is indirect. But we agreed with Gazprom Armenia that the gas  price inside the country will not change, "said Pashinyan on the  sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

At the end of December, Gazprom announced that, in accordance with  the signed additional agreement to the contract between Gazprom  export and Gazprom Armenia, the price of Russian gas at the border of  Georgia and Armenia in 2019 will rise to $ 165 per thousand cubic  meters from $ 150 to 2018 year The contract for the supply of up to  2.5 billion cubic meters per year is valid until the end of 2019.  Gazprom Armenia, 100% owned by Gazprom, is a gas supplier to the  Armenian domestic market.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reported that the  increase in the price of Russian gas will not affect domestic  consumers. The government of the republic announced plans to reach an  agreement with the Armenian "daughter" of Russian "Gazprom" on  preserving the domestic gas tariff, explaining that this is supposed  to be done by reducing the company's costs.

According to analysts of ArmInfo, this decision may lead to a change  in the tariff margin for Gazprom Armenia CJSC, and, as a result, to a  reduction in investment, which should exceed $ 400 million over 10  years. Meanwhile, on January 12, in response to a request from  ArmInfo about the possibility of reducing the tariff margin, and, as  a result, a possible reduction in the company's investment program  volume due to the rising cost of Russian gas, Gazprom Armenia hoped  that as a result of negotiations on the magnitude of the tariff  margin, such decisions, which will ensure the company's normal  activities and the implementation of reliable and safe gas supply  consumers.
