ArmInfo.German KfW Bank is a reliable partner of Armenia. With his participation in the country, a number of programs are being implemented in various fields. Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan announced this on January 31 in Cologne during a meeting with the Bank's regional director for Eastern European countries Olaf Zimelka.
According to him, which the press service of the Armenian government cites, for Armenia it is important that the grant agreement signed in November 2018 with KfW is aimed at implementing a program of biodiversity and sustainable local development. The Bank will grant Armenia a grant of 23.2 million euros, which is one of the most significant programs in the region. The Prime Minister stressed that bringing this area to high environmental standards is one of the government's priorities, and he is pleased to see in the person of the German Development Bank a reliable ally.
In turn, the regional director of KfW stressed that Armenia is an important partner for Bank, with whom a number of efficient joint programs were implemented. Expressing satisfaction with the process of cooperation with various departments of the country, Zimelka added that the Armenia-KfW partnership promotes the development of Armenian-German relations, and the Bank is interested in discussing and implementing new initiatives. The Armenian Prime Minister and the KfW Regional Director discussed the implementation of current programs in the areas of environmental protection, energy, agriculture, infrastructure, water management, and also exchanged views on expanding cooperation in other promising areas.
