On January 27, 2019, OFAC announced the lifting of sanctions. Thus, for most of 2018, the Company was under sanctions. These circumstances, combined with a number of other factors, led to a deterioration in a number of operating indicators.
In 2018, the total aluminum production in the company amounted to 3,753 thousand tons, which is 1.3% higher than the previous year. At the same time, last year the volume of sales of aluminum decreased by 7.2% compared with the same period a year earlier, reaching 3,671 thousand tons. Sales of value-added products amounted to 1,664 thousand tons, which is 11% less than in 2017. The share of the value-added products in the total sales volume was 45%.
In 2018, the average selling price of aluminum increased by 7.3% to $ 2,259 per ton compared to last year, which was mainly due to the increase in the average price of aluminum on LME for the first three quarters of 2018, taking into account the quotation period, by 8.5% - up to $ 2,107 per ton. The average realized premium in 2018 decreased by 6.7% compared to last year - to $ 152 per ton.
