ArmInfo. Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia David Ananyan received a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), headed by the head of the technical assistance mission on tax administration Vincent Coukpayzen.
According to the press office of the SRC, the parties discussed issues related to the objectives of the IMF mission related to current tasks and the planned results of the tax and customs committee. In particular, the interlocutors discussed the strategic program of tax administration, which is being developed in the SRC.
They also touched upon the process of introducing an online tax shadow assessment system and identifying it, establishing new criteria for determining risks, for conducting tax audits based on international best practices.The IMF mission expressed its willingness to provide technical assistance to SRC in the effective implementation of work on the modernization of tax administration.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the course of cooperation between the SRC and the IMF.Recall that Armenia became a member of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on April 28, 1992. In June 2017, congratulating Armenia on the 25th anniversary of its membership in the IMF, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Zhang Tao noted the need to continue work on diversification and modernization of the country's economy. "Over these 25 years, Armenia has made significant progress in terms of ensuring macroeconomic stability, namely, satisfactory rates of economic growth, inflation targeting, and relatively good management of fiscal policy," he said. It should be noted that it was with the technical assistance of the IMF that Armenia developed the Tax Code, as well as revised the country's fiscal rules.
