ArmInfo. On February 12, the Prosecutor General's Office of Armnei summed up the activities of the Military Prosecutor's Office for 2018, as well as the results of the work of law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime.
As reported by the press service of the supervisory authority, in 2018 3525 cases were registered in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and other military units, against 3416 - in 2017. 2358 of them or 66.9% of misconduct, 1140 cases or 32.3% of crimes (63.8% of the military, 36.2% of crimes of a general nature).
According to the source, compared to 2017, the number of crimes decreased by 5.5% in 2018. The number of serious crimes increased by 9 or 8.1%, and especially serious ones, on the contrary, decreased by 37 or 46.2% (in 2017 there were 80 cases). In particular, 43 cases of especially grave crimes 7 are murders by the enemy, 1 is the murder committed by a colleague, 1 is the murder of a civilian by a serviceman, - is a case of murder by an unknown person, 23 is an assassination attempt by an enemy, 1 - committing violent actions by the boss in relation to the subordinate, 7 - receiving a bribe by an official. In 2017, 21 soldiers were killed by an enemy shot.1173 military personnel received bodily injuries of varying severity, compared to 1813 in 2017 (a decline of 35.3%).
The number of military personnel who received serious bodily injuries has decreased from 102 to 54.By type of crime, the number of crimes decreased by 10.4%against military discipline; by 33.3% - the amount crimes related to the use and preservation of military property, weapons and ammunition, as well as violating the rules handling materials, objects that pose the greatest threat to the environment; crimes against the use of military equipment were reduced by 39.1%, and by 33.3% - crimes against life and health. At the same time, the number of crimes related to the performance of a special service increased by 22.2%, military malfeasance increased by 29.3%, and the number of crimes against public security increased by 32.1%. Significantly reduced the number of unauthorized leaving part or duty station. Disclosure of crimes, as in 2017, amounted to 97.1%.Corruption offenses in military units increased by 56.9% to 182 cases. 61.9% reduced the number of relapses.
