ArmInfo. Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan received Head of the South Caucasus Regional Representation of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Maciej Czura.
According to the press service of the government, Tigran Avinyan noted the successful and effective cooperation with the EIB. According to him, the programs implemented with the assistance of the Bank, contribute to the sustainable development of Armenia.
Deputy Prime Minister noted that the analysis of all credit resources provided to Armenia and the inventory of credit programs is being carried out.
He also referred to the priorities of the five-year government program. Maciej Czura, in turn, noted that this year marks 10 years of partnership with Armenia, the volume of programs implemented and under implementation is estimated at approximately 380 million euros.
According to the EIB representative, the vision of the Armenian government towards the development of socio-economic infrastructures, promoting the private sector, as well as mitigating the impact of climate change, is consonant with the strategic goals of the Bank in Armenia.
The interlocutors referred to the implementation of programs in the areas of transport, water resources, management systems, energy and power management.
The European Investment Bank is the EU state financial institution for financing the development of backward European regions in the form of long-term loans. It was established in 1958 with the aim of providing loans for the construction and reconstruction of objects that are of interest to EU countries. The bank's cooperation with Armenia is based on three priority areas - energy supply, development and support of infrastructures, support for SMEs.
To note, the state debt of Armenia, as planned by the financial authorities of the republic, in 2019 will increase by approximately $ 490 million. Armenia expects to receive $ 9.4 million from the European Investment Bank.
