ArmInfo. Issues related to the formation of a fair competitive environment in Armenia were discussed in the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments. According to the press service of the ministry, as a result of research conducted by the RA State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition, by order of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, a working group was set up headed by Minister Tigran Khachatryan, which included representatives of several ministries, departments and state structures.
As noted in the message, competitive problems include issues such as the provision of licenses and permits on non-competitive conditions, restrictions on the import of goods, shadow turnover in the field of liquefied natural gas, a high concentration in the market of gasoline, alcohol, etc. As a result of the groups' work the Ministry intends to develop effective measures aimed at elimination of restrictions in the field of economic competition.
Commenting on the process, the Minister of Economic Development and Investments noted that by initiating a series of discussions, the department intends to listen to the views and proposals of all parties. "Obviously, the necessary adjustments will be formed in the working atmosphere, and the recommendations will then be submitted to the government for approval," said Khachatryan, expressing confidence that a logical and substantive discussion will form a more fair and understandable competitive field. Discussions on the issue of agenda will continue.
