ArmInfo. Any income in Armenia should be subject to taxation. This opinion was expressed by Deputy Head of the Legal Department of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia Naira Avanesyan at a meeting with representatives of show business, convened today at the initiative of the Tax and Customs Committee. However, as it turned out, not all representatives of the showbiz share.
This point of view and only the producer came to the meeting with the tax authoritiesRazmik Amyan and Martin Mkrtchyan singers Armen Movsisyan and announcer,Tamada Karl Avetyan.According to Naira Avanesyan, some representatives of show business responded to the September appeal of the Chairman of the SRC David Ananian to fulfill their tax obligations in good faith.
They not only registered with the tax authority, but also submitted a tax return. However, since the process is just beginning and many are not familiar with the mechanisms and the essence of taxation of the sphere, the SRC decided to collect them today and explain in detail all the details of the application of the law. "There are those who need to familiarize themselves with the specifics and procedures of taxation," she said. Thus, according to the representative of the SRC, the general principle of taxation is as follows: representatives of the sphere of art, who have not passed tax registration, must come to the tax authority, submit a list of necessary documents stipulated by law and get a taxpayer number.
"The list of required documents is not long," Avanesyan assured. After, when receiving income and, accordingly, forming a tax base, representatives of the show business will submit a tax return, on the basis of which they will fulfill their tax obligations."Everyone should come to the realization that if they receive income from their activities, they must voluntarily pay taxes to the state," the deputy head emphasized. At the same time, there is another mechanism for the fulfillment of tax obligations by representatives of show business - by obtaining registration in the register of legal entities as an individual entrepreneur (IP) or other legal entity. Immediately after that, they will again get a taxpayer number online, choose a tax regime for themselves, in accordance with which they will fulfill their tax obligations.
A taxpayer, according to Avanesyan, will be entitled to choose his tax regime. If the taxpayer functions as an individual, his income will be taxed in the order established by the RA law as income, if the showbiz figure acts as a legal entity, he will work in the field of regulating turnover tax and pay 5% tax, or VAT and income tax. Representatives of the showbiz will be required to submit tax returns by April 20th of this year.As early as September 10, 2018, at the meeting with journalists, the head of the SRC David Ananyan said that in the sphere of culture, a culture of tax evasion was formed "perfectly."
"For example, we have our favorite singers and singers, they write and perform patriotic songs, but so far one of them has not submitted a declaration of annual income," said the chairman of the SRC, stressing that this imperative is already in effect about 25 years old.As it turned out, Tigran Mansuryan, the only cultural figure who submitted declarations in a timely manner, is RA People's Artist. In the absence of a response last December, the SRC issued a statement in which it called on representatives of show business engaged in entrepreneurial activities to declare their income. Otherwise, the tax service reminded that illegal business activity leads to criminal liability. However, on January 16 at the press conference, the head of the SRC complained that for almost half a year no one from the show business representatives had responded to the call of the head of the SRC.
