According to the press service of the Deputy Prime Minister, Tigran Avinyan noted that the visit provides a good opportunity to discuss current programs and opportunities for deepening cooperation with the World Bank. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of cooperation with the World Bank, especially in the field of human capital development, export promotion and competitiveness, as well as environmental management and the use of mineral resources. Cyril Muller noted that today in the world there is a great interest in Armenia and the reforms implemented in the country, and the WB is ready to support the implementation of the ambitious government program.
Tigran Avinyan and Cyril Muller noted the importance of the fact that the priorities of the Partnership Framework with the WB are in line with the government's program, especially in stimulating inclusive economic growth. The interlocutors discussed the issues of improving the business environment in Armenia. Avinyan noted that this is a government priority, and effective steps will be taken to improve the situation of Armenia in the World Bank's <Doing Business> report. The programs implemented in the field of high technologies and the scientific and educational field, as well as the prospects for the implementation of new initiatives were also touched upon. In this context, the issues of entering of university graduates the labor market and the possibility of strengthening the teaching of natural and technical sciences in the field of education were discussed. To recall, Armenia has worsened its position in the ranking of Doing Business - 2018, which reflects the simplicity of doing business in the countries. The country dropped by 9 positions and ranked 47th among the 190 countries included in the study. Armenia, is a member of the World Bank since 1992. In total, the WB provided Armenia with funds in the form of loans and grants amounting to $ 2.3 billion.
