ArmInfo.A meeting was held in the Armenian government under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, dedicated to the issues of improving the position of the RA in the World Bank Doing Business ranking.
According to Avinyan, improving the business environment is a priority for the country's Cabinet of Ministers. The government, as the Deputy Premier pointed out, is taking consecutive steps towards improving the positions of Armenia in the corresponding WB Doing Business rating.
In this regard, as Avinyan pointed out, the government will be extremely consistent in developing and implementing measures aimed at simplifying the granting of construction permits, connecting to the electricity system, registering property, obtaining loans, protecting small shareholders, paying taxes, foreign economic activity, bankruptcy issues, as well as other procedures related to the conduct of business activities.
The implementation of these measures, as stated during the meeting, the government aims to reduce the tax burden for businesses, remove barriers to economic activity, simplify tax and customs policies, and establish a predictable foreign trade environment.
According to Avinyan, every beneficiary of the program will be monthly aware of the ongoing reforms through an electronic platform or other warning systems.
To recall, Armenia has worsened its position in the ranking of Doing Business - 2018, which reflects the simplicity of doing business in the countries. The country dropped to 9 positions and ranked 47th among the 190 countries included in the study.
