ArmInfo. On March 15, Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Artur Javadyan received a delegation of the World Bank headed by Vice President of the World Bank in Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller. This was reported to ArmInfo in the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia.
The Head of the Central Bank of Armenia, welcoming the guests, stressed the importance of the participation of the World Bank in the process of developing the Armenian economy. "The WB assisted in carrying out ambitious reforms in such areas as fiscal administration and strengthening of economic potential," said A. Javadyan, referring also to issues of capital market development and dram financing, as important steps to diversify the financial sector.He noted that the interest of international financial structures is evidenced by the assistance they provide to Armenian banks in issuing AMD bonds.
A. Javadyan expressed the hope that the World Bank will provide high-quality expert support to the Central Bank's policy of diversifying the financial sector.S. Muller, highly appreciating the cooperation with the state authorities of Armenia, especially emphasized the fact of effective partnership between the World Bank and the Central Bank of Armenia. He stated the readiness of the World Bank to continue to assist Armenia in the implementation of reform programs.The parties discussed issues of mutual interest, as well as programs whose influential role will be assigned to the World Bank.
