Minimum consumptions basket costs in Armenia soared 3.4% to 60,397 drams in Q1 2015 versus
58,404 drams in Q1 2014, Gurgen Martirosyan, the head of the Department for the Price Statistics and International Comparisons, told ArmInfo.
He said the foods basket accounts for 56.5% or 34,123 drams (per person) of the consumption basket, non- foods and tariffs for services account for 43.5% or 26.274 drams of the total basket. It is noteworthy that in Armenia, the minimal nominal salary has been increased to 55,000 drams since 2015 versus 50,000 drams in 2014 and 35.000 drams in 2013. In 2016, it will be increased to 62,500 drams and to then 70,000 drams in 2017.
According to the National Service of Statistics, deflation in the consumer market of Armenia in June 2015 totaled 1.4% as food prices fell 3%. Consumer price index totaled 100%, index of food products (alcohol and tobacco inclusive) totaled 97.6%, the one of the non-foods - 104.1%, tariffs and services - 101.1%.
As compared to Jan-Jun 2014 these indicators totaled 105.1%, 105.6%, 105.7% and 103.7%. In June 2015 as compared to Jun 2014, these indicators totaled 105.5%, 105.2%, 107% Ё 104.1%, respectively.
