ArmInfo. MasterCard is raffling off 180 tablets for the cardholders of Armenian banks. Anelik Bank has also joined the campaign and its MasterCard and Maestro cardholders can win one of the 180 tablets, the press service of the bank has told ArmInfo.
The source says that Anelik Bank's MasterCard and Maestro cardholders, who make over 30 noncash operations worth a total of 300 thsd AMD along with online transactions from October 15 till December 15, will participate in the drawing.
Astghik Martirosyan, PR Representative of Anelik Bank, points out that the campaign aims to stimulate noncash operations, promote the use of MasterCards, attract new cardholders, thereby making MasterCard a more attractive payment instrument. "The campaign is organized by MasterCard in association with Armenian Card CJSC under the slogan "Turning Shopping into Gifts". This is a pleasant surprise from Anelik Bank and its partners. I am sure we will shortly have an opportunity to offer convenient banking tools, as well as useful and pleasant gifts to the customers," she says.
To recall, CreditBank S.A.L. became Anelik Bank's shareholder in Feb 2009 with a 51% stake. In Q4 2013, CreditBank S.A.L. became the sole owner of Anelik Bank by increasing its stake from 89.95% to 100%. In December 2012, AnelikRu (Moscow) was alienated from Anelik Bank and CreditBank S.A.L gained ownership of AnelikRu.
According to the analytical review "Armenian Banks in Card Business" by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), as of 1 April 2015, the number of active cards was more than 47 thsd, including over 20 thsd Visa cards, more than 19 thsd ArCa cards and almost 7 thsd MasterCards. In 2014 the amount of transactions with plastic cards was about 32 bln AMD (60% year-over-year growth), with over 89% being the share of ATM transactions (almost twofold year- over-year growth in absolute terms). Anelik Bank was the first Armenian bank to work with both Visa and MasterCard simultaneously along with issuing and servicing local ArCa cards.
