European Investment Bank (EIB) allocated 51 mln EUR to Armenia for reconstruction of strategically important international transport road of the country- M6 route, which serves as a transport corridor connecting Armenia with Georgia. EIB will provide financial assistance for reconstruction and renovation of 90km infrastructure of the route.

It is also expected that these changes will contribute to increasing the level of safety on the roads of the country.
EIB's Vice-President Laszlo Baranyay, who is responsible for the bank's operation in Armenia, noted that this transport connection is the main arterial road, which connects Armenia with EU and CIS countries. 60% of Armenia's international transport flow via Georgia's Black Sea harbors is implemented through this road.
