ArmInfo. Under the project on reconstruction of the electric power transmission network, Armenia keeps taking measures to expand the Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) project.
The press office of the Armenian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources reports that the SCADA project is funded by the $13.6 mln loan provided by the Asian Development Bank. The loan was provided for 25 years, with the first 5 years being the grace period. The total cost of the project is $16.1mln. The Armenian Government's co-financing will be $2.5 mln. An international tender chose Lahmeyer GmbH and Energy Division CESI S.P.A. as a joint advisory company. A contract will be concluded with the company and the project will be completed in 2018.
To note, SCADA has already been introduced in Armenia with the support of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), but it needs to be expanded and upgraded for full-scale and effective operation.
To recall, under the Armenia-JBIC loan agreement related to the electric power transmission and distribution system, Armenia received 5 bln 399 mln JPY (about $56 mln) for the first phase of SCADA.
