ArmInfo. The Krasnodar Territory and Adyghe Republic Division of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) apologizes for the previously posted information that a batch of moth-affected tomatoes has been returned to Armenia.
"The specified batch is suspected to have been sent from another country with forged documents. The veracity of the documents is currently being checked," says the information posted on the official website of Rosselkhoznadzor's Krasnodar Territory and Adyghe Republic Division.
To recall, on February 10, Yasno news agency reported, citing Rosselkhoznadzor's official website that the Krasnodar Territory and Adyghe Republic Division of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance suppressed the entry of 22 tons of moth-affected tomatoes from Armenia.
The source said that a South American tomato moth was revealed in the course of examination of 22 tons of tomatoes from Armenia and the experts have confirmed the availability of the moth.
To note, the tomato moth can spoil tomatoes not only in the fields but also in the greenhouse facilities.
