ArmInfo. On May 26, Chairman of the Armenian State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition Artak Shaboyan received Russia's Trade Representative Andrey Babko and Trade Consultant Igor Zinovyev.
The press office of the State Commission reports that the meeting took place at the Russian side's initiative in the light of the Armenian exporters' problems previously raised by Artak Shaboyan. In particular, the meeting covered issues related to competition in export to the Eurasian Economic Union member states, as well as the ways to address them. Shaboyan stressed the need to regulate the use of single principles of trade and services for all the EEU countries, which will be a good basis for creation of a legal framework of relations between the suppliers and trade chains.
The Russian representatives expressed their intention to contribute to settlement of the specified problems.
At the same time, Babko requested the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition to survey the greenhouse facilities of Armenia. He said that there is a Russia-funded program aimed at supporting the greenhouse facilities in Armenia. Babko noted that the vegetables grown in Armenia enjoy high demand on the Russian market and the successful implementation of the program is critically important.
Shaboyan replied that the State Commission is willing to conduct the relevant surveys in the given sector.
