ArmInfo. Russia has invested in Armenia's economy over $4.2 bln (2.04 trillion AMD) in the period between 1988 and 2016, 75.6% of that being foreign direct investments (1.5 trillion AMD or $3.2 bln). Given the payments, exchange rate and price changes during the period between 1988 and April 1 2016 net investments from Russia exceeded 1 trillion AMD ($ 2.1 bln), from which 881.1 bln AMD ($ 1.8 bln) are FDI.
Russia holds leadership by gross investments, including FDI (more than 37% of the total gross investments and more than 47% of total FDI), Germany (10%-$1.1 bln, of which FDI-more than $384 mln) and France (9%-$1 bln, of which FDI-$925 mln) rank next with tangible difference. In terms of net reserves Russia (41%) is followed by Cyprus (8%) and Argentina (7.5%).
According to the data of National Statistical Service of Armenia, gross amount of investments in the real sector of Armenia's economy between 1988 and 2016 totaled 5.5 trillion AMD or $11.4 billion as of April 1, 3.3 trillion AMD or $6.8 bln are direct foreign investments. Net investments after payments and given exchange rate and price changes between 1988 and Aril 1,2016 reached 2.5 trillion AMD ($ 5.2 bln), including FDI-1.8 trillion AMD ($ 3.8 bln).
Average exchange rate as of March 31 2016 totaled 480.79AMD/$1 and 471.13 AMD/$1 as of March 31 2015.
