ArmInfo. Prometey Bank has announced the launch of a remote Prometey Mobile service, which will enable banking operations through smartphones and tablets. It will also allow the customers to follow and manage their accounts round the clock in any corner of the world. The presentation of the app took place on June 14. Emil Soghomonyan, Chairman of the Board of Prometey Bank, made the opening speech. "Prometey Bank has never sought to be one of the largest banks of Armenia. On the contrary, we developed and approved a program to become one of the leading banks in the country in terms of introduction and use of innovation technologies," he said. He welcomed and thanked everyone for participation and said," Prometey Bank wishes to be in your pockets".
Lilit Makaryan, Marketing and PR specialist at Prometey Bank, said that the Prometey Mobile app can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store or Play Store (for IOS and Android). The app will enable the customers to see the current accounts, the operations with
each card and account, information on deposits and loans. It will also make it possible to synchronize the schedule of loan redemption with the mobile calendar and to receive notifications about the date of loan repayment, as well as to follow the exchange rates. In the
meantime, the app will provide the customers with a map of locations of the nearby branches and ATMs of the Bank. Makaryan noted that Prometey Mobile will enable the customers to remit money, pay utilities, repay loans, and convert currencies. The app meets international standards of safety.
The app will also allow the customers to make money transfers among the Bank's customers free of charge, as well as to make money transfers in Armenia. As regards international transfers, she said that the fee will be 25% lower than the fee fixed at the Bank, because the Bank intends to make mobile banking technologies more accessible for all public strata and to popularize the service in Armenia.
The Prometey Mobile app advertising personality is Eurovision-2016 participant Iveta Mukuchyan.
To note, Prometey Bank has been operating on the Armenian financial market since 1990. As of 1 April 2016, the total capital of the Bank amounted to 24.2 bln AMD ($50.3 mln), the regulatory total capital made up 21.7 bln AMD ($45.1 mln), and the capital adequacy ratio was 32.67% (while the CB minimum requirement is 12%). At the yearend of 2015, the net profit of the Bank amounted to 1.1 bln AMD or $2.2 mln. In terms of ROA, the Bank is among the top-5 (1.39%) and in terms of ROE - it is among the top-10 (4.54%).
