ArmInfo. The 9th meeting of the Advisory Committee for Entrepreneurship of the Eurasian Economic Council in Yerevan will cover issues related to adoption of technical regulations, promotion of trade in the EEU and specificationof requirements, Armenian Economy Minister Artsvik Minasyan told reporters on July 8.
He said that after joining the EEU, Armenia came across many problems related to formation of a single regulatory framework and introduction of the documents adopted on the basis of the powers authorized by the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Minister in charge of Economy and Financial Policy of the EEC Timur Suleimenov said that the adaptation to the Union implies studying the laws of the Organization and its member states. "Armenia is historically a center of jewelry industry and consequently the country has a big export potential in this field", he said, adding that Armenia has no common border with the Union. Therefore, some issues related to VAT payments can be facilitated.
"The tax rates, tax base, tax exemption and tax concessions are under national jurisdiction," he said, when commenting on ArmInfo's question whether the new Tax Code of Armenia complies with the tax field of the EEU. The Commission, in turn, must ensure neutrality of taxes. "The taxes imposed on the Armenian goods exported to Kazakhstan must not be higher than those imposed on the locally produces goods," he said.
