ArmInfo. On August 12, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council met in Sochi, with Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan attending it.
Prime Ministers of the EAEU member states have reached principled agreements on the new option of the EAEU Customs Code.
The Draft Customs Code of the Union is based on international standards and best practices of customs administration. The document codifies the provisions of 20 international treaties in customs regulations area.
The innovative approaches embodied in the Draft EAEU CC include:
- priority of electronic customs declaration;
- possibility of conducting customs operations relating to the registration of a Customs Declaration and release of goods automatically, using information systems of customs bodies;
- possibility of submitting a Customs Declaration without presentation to a customs body of the documents, based on which it was filled;
- improvement of the economic operator institution;
- use of the "single window" mechanism for conducting customs operations.
During the session other documents were approved which are necessary for forming single market of medicines in the EAEU member states. The Prime Ministers of the EAEU member states (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan) and Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sargsyan participated in the session. Tigran Sargsyan said the Customs Code is the document for which the business has been waiting for. He added that the document has been developed in partnership with the business circles of the EAEU member states and it took into account all the comments. "Obviously, this document will help speed up the integration processes within the Eurasian Economic area", Tigran Sargsyan said.
