State Service for Food Safety of Armenia banned import of pork from Ukraine
ArmInfo. In order to prevent advance of an epidemic of African swine fever in Armenia the State Service for Food Safety of Armenia banned import of pigs, their genetic material, pork, final products, containing pork, as well as all kinds of feed for pigs from Ukraine.
The press-service of the State Service for Food Safety of Armenia informs that the information published on the official website of the World Organization for Animal Health testify to epidemic in Ukraine.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Ukraine declined in Jan-July 2016 by 21.1% y-o-y to 58.5 mln USD. Particularly import from Ukraine dropped by 24.7% to 53.6 mln USD amid growth of export of Armenian goods to Ukraine by 61.3% to 4.9 mln USD.
