ArmInfo. Beeline launched 4G/LTE mobile network in Yerevan today. The network allows using mobile Internet of up to 60 MB/s speed, Beeline Armenia CEO Andrey Pyatakhin stated at today's press conference.
"We are very proud today to announce about launching the 4G/LTE network, which has already been put in commercial commission testing and works in central districts of Yerevan. I have tested the new network and can say that the speed of 4G is incomparable with the standards of the third generation", he noted.
He told that as of today 70 4G base stations have been installed in the capital, and the number of the stations will grow up to 150 by the end of the year. "Of course we could launch the network later, ensuring more stations. However, we realize that our client needs high speed internet now that is why as soon as certain number of stations was installed we have immediately surprised our clients launching 4G network", Pyatakhin added.
According to Beeline engineering expert Maksim Levin main cities of the republic will be provided with 4G/LTE mobile network next year. "Construction of a network in accordance with all international standards and provision of super fast Internet to hundreds of thousands of our subscribers was a great challenge and responsibility for our company's engineering department. However, we aim to advance technologies and provide the best services to our subscribers, and we are ready to do it," said Maksim Levin.
