ArmInfo. Belarus plans to supply dump trucks and mining equipment to Armenia.
This issue was discussed during Belarusian Ambassador Igur Nazaruk's visit to Syunik region of Armenia, Belta informs citing Foreign Ministry of Belarus.
"The Ambassador visited a number of Armenian mining enterprises, particularly Zangezur Copper- Molybdenum Combine, Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Mine Complex and Kapan Mining Combine. During the meetings with the heads of the enterprises issues of supply of dump trucks and mining equipment were discussed. The Belarus diplomat also met with governor of Syunik region Surik Khachatryan. The sides discussed a wide range of urgent issues of bilateral interregional cooperation as well as cooperation in trade-economic and humanitarian sectors", the statement of the Belarus Foreign Ministry reads.
To note, according to the data of National Statistical Service of Armenia in 2015 foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Belarus totaled 39.2 mln dollars with 2% y-o-y decline. Particularly, export totaled 5.4 mln dollars with 39.6% y-o-y decline. Import -33.8 mln dollars with 8.9% y-o-y growth.
National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that in Jan-July 2016 trade turnover totaled16.8 mln dollars with 6.2% y-o-y decline export made up 5.9 mln dollars with 64.5% y-o-y growth, import-10.9 mln dollars with 24% y-o-y drop.
Belarus supplies quite a wide range of goods to Armenia, such as heavy-duty equipment, "Belaz", agricultural machines, tires, tractors, light industry products, drugs, wooden crafts, furniture, food products. At the same time, Armenian brandy is quite popular in Belarus, Armenian juices, fruits and jams are also supplied. Supply of Armenian jewelry has significantly increased in recent years. Joint Belarusian- Armenian brandy bottling enterprise successfully operates in Belarus, Armenian-Belarusian "Ar-Be" trading house operates in Armenia, through the network of which more than 12 thousand items of Belarusian goods are sold.
