ArmInfo. Agriculture Minister of Armenia Ignaty Arakelyan received Lebanese Ambassador to Armenia Jean Macaron on October 19 to discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation, the ministry's press-office told ArmInfo.
Hailing the close relations of the two countries in the field of agriculture, Minister Arakelyan said he is informed of the Lebanese Embassy's initiatives that look to boost agricultural development in Armenia.
"Lebanese businesspersons are interest in investing in Armenia. We are ready to cooperate in various segments and discuss the proposals submitted," the minister said offering establishment of joint ventures as a promising area for cooperation.
Ambassador Jean Macaron briefed the minister on investments of Lebanese businessmen in the agricultural sector highlighting the activity of Gardenia Lebanese Farms llc that helped creating gardens of pecans in Yeghvard, Kotayk region, Armenia in 2015. The Lebanese businesspersons seek to invest in the agricultural sector in Armenia, particularly, in potato processing.
The minister thanked the diplomat for cooperation in the development of the bilateral cooperation and establishment of business contacts.
