ArmInfo. On October 22, Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan attended the annual specialized ArmProdExpo exhibition that opened at the Yerevan Expo complex of the Yerevan Scientific Research Institute of Mathematical Machines.
The press office of the Armenian Government has told ArmInfo that the Prime Minister familiarized himself with the range of the products and the development programs of the companies. The participants informed Karapetyan of the problems hindering the increase of the output, export, etc.
Karapetyan urged the representatives of the companies to prepare a package of proposals and submit it to the Government. The Prime Minister pointed out the need to use advanced technologies in the production process. He noted that the Government is willing to support the economic entities. He added that currently negotiations are being held with the minister of agriculture to set up a company jointly with the private sector that would search for markets for the Armenian agricultural products and processed food. "But the qualitative parameters will be clearly formulated and it will be necessary to comply with them so that people could invest their money in a particular business and start looking for a relevant market," he said.
To note, ArmProdExpo 2016 opened in Yerevan on October 21. The exhibition aims to feature the capacities of the agricultural production and processing industry, assess the competitiveness of the local goods, expand the export capacities, establish business contacts, and demonstrate a range of high-quality agricultural and food products to the visitors. The representatives of almost all sectors of agriculture from the provinces of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as nearly 90 organizations are participating in the event.
