ArmInfo. The public procurement system and state support program in Armenia should be open, transparent and fair - this is the Prime Minister's demand, Artak Shaboyan, Head of the Armenian State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition, told reporters on Nov 30.
He said the unfair procurement has a bad effect on the competitive environment and creates unequal conditions. "Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan's instruction is to make the public procurement and support process fair and in equal conditions," Shaboyan said. He stressed that all businessmen should be informed of it. No favoritism will be admitted in any structure from now on, he stressed.
According to the Commission's survey, over the past 4 years the state suffered financial losses worth 1.5 bln AMD (nearly 3.1 mln USD) due to the wrong and unfair process of public procurement of fertilizers for the farmers.
