ArmInfo. Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received today the representatives of companies engaged in major foreign direct investment in the Republic of Armenia, the press-service of the Armenian government informs.
The Prime Minister said that the Government is keen to see increased investment in the economy of our country and stands ready to discuss joint efforts towards achieving progress in this direction.
The Head of Government was briefed on the problems related to the activities of the companies that invest in a variety of areas: information technology, mining, energy, agriculture, food industry, transport and communications, which basically related to tax and customs administration, diversification of transport routes, etc.
During the exchange of views that followed, the speakers came up with a number of proposals to deal with the problems. The meeting also focused on issues relating to investors' development program.
Referring to the raised questions, Karen Karapetyan urged the foreign investors to submit to the relative agencies their proposals in written form and called on the decision-makers to consider them together and show consistency in the implementation of the agreements reached.
"If we come to a common denominator around what has been stated here, I pledge that we will comply with our commitments with up to four decimal places. But you, the representatives of business, should specify what I should do and what you have to do so that we can move forward step by step. I look forward to your proposals," the Prime Minister concluded.
