The Government of Armenia undertakes necessary measures to provide the availability of energy-conservative equipments in the country's near-border village, Deputy Minister of Infrastructures and Natural Resources of Armenia Hayk Harutyunyan stated during the press-conference in Yerevan on March 7.
According to him, energy-saving equipments use will let solve both social, economic, and environmental problems of the country. One of the directions of implementing new technologies in the field is the installation of energy-saving lamps LED at near-border regions of the country, also throughout Artsakh countryside. This has been arranged recently by the members of initiative Illuminated Armenia, on exchanging old lamps to new ones in the village of Chinari, Tavush region in Armenia. Totally within the project launched in November 2016, there have been already involved 7 villages from Armenia and Artsakh.
The initiative has already accumulated 21 mln AMD, 8 thousand from which were used to buy LED lamps. The Deputy Chairman emphasized that every family will save over 4 thousand AMD every month, as a result of using these lamps. The main supporters of this project is the Government of Armenia, -Electric Power JSC of Armenia, High-Voltage Networks JSC and many other organizations.
Hayk Harutyunyan pointed out that if in 2015 75 thousand lamps were imported , in 2016 that indicator grew up to 1.6mln. Totally the temps of growth in the field increased by 20 times. The supplies are implemented by 30-40 companies, which provide warranties for 3-4 years. Moreover, there are all the backgrounds for creating a lamps producing facility in Armenia, which use could lead to 30-100 mln kWh saving.
