ArmInfo. In 2017 QI the power energy production volumes in Armenia increased for 9,3 %. This is stated by the press office of Armenian Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources.
According to the source, in January- March 2017 about 2,1 bln kw/h of energy has been produced, which is 178 mln kW/h more versus volumes for the similar period of last year. The internal market consumption formed 1,7 bln kw/h of power energy, which is 10% higher of that for the last year, and forms 156 mln kW/h more than in January-March 2016.
The export of power energy to Georgia has also increased. In Q1I 2017 about 75,8 kW/h energy was supplied to the neighbor country. This was supported by Agremeent signed between Energoimpex and Global International Energy companies on mutual power flows between Armenia and Georgia, which allowed to optimize the schedules of energy power production and supplies in Armenia. As the result, only in February about 25, 4 mln kW/h of energy has been supplied to Georgian market only in February, and in march this figure formed 50,8 mln kW/h. it is forecasted that in April the total volume of supplies to Georgia will make around 40 mln kW/h.
