ArmInfo. Today, the State  Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Armenia, in its tourism  development policy, is not yet aiming to win new markets, but adheres  to the principle of "Low hanging fruit". The head of the State  Committee for Tourism of the Ministry of Economic Development and  Investments of the Republic of Armenia Zarmine Zeituntsyan stated  during a press conference on April 18.

"In other words, we intend to accurately develop and concentrate on  one market, and only then to proceed to another one, that is what we  are doing in direction of Russia", she explained.

In this light, Zeytuntsyan reported that on March 31 and April 1, an  exhibition "Armenia - My Seventh Sense" was held in the pavilion at  VDNKh, where the tourist product of Armenia and Artsakh was  presented. "On the first day, we presented the peculiarities of  short-term rest in Armenia, in particular, the national cuisine,  songs and dances." On the second day, in 2-3 hours the number of  visitors increased to 3,000," she said, adding that 34 Russian media  outlets, including Komsomolskaya Pravda, MIA Russia today, Vesti  Moscow, Mir, and others enlightened this event.

Zeytuntsyan said that during the visit to Russia a meeting with  representatives of Rosturizm took place, as a result of discussions  two agreements were reached. "Rosturizm obliged to the end of April  to present the Armenian tourist product to Russian tour operators, as  well as to organize a visit of Russian journalists and bloggers to  Armenia," she said. At the same time, according to Zeytuntsyan, in  May 2017. "Avto Plus" TV company will release two thirteen-minute  films about Armenia that were shoot in March 2017 within the  framework of their visit to Armenia.

Currently, according to her, negotiations are held on the  presentation of the Armenian tour product in the program "Road-out  Notes" with Dmitry Krylov on the First Russian Channel. At the same  time, publication of a book about Armenia within the framework of an  agreement with Russian editions of guidebooks and reference books  (<Lonely Planet>, <Polyglot>, <Orange Guide>, etc.) is envisaged.

In particular, Zeytuntsyan said that the Armenian exhibition  organizes the further route to St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, and  other Russian cities, in the direction of which the direct flights  are carried.
