In the first quarter of 2017, more than $ 2 million was allocated to implement the program to extend the life of the power unit N2 of the Armenian nuclear power plant, the press service of the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia reports with reference to the head of the credit and grant programs department of the ministry apparatus of Vardan Martirosyan.
In all, according to the source, the funds are attracted from foreign states and international organizations as loans and grants. Martirosyan stressed that in the I quarter of 2017, the investments in the energy sector of the state total %3.2 million, 2 of which in the life extension of the ANPP. As a result of international tenders, agreements were concluded with contractors on the modernization of electric substations at the Yerevan Thermal Power Plant, Agarak-2, Shinuair, Ashnak, Haghtanak, Charentsavan-3 and Vanadzor-1. Currently, work is underway to modify these programs, the implementation of which will begin in the second half of 2017. In total, in 2017, investments in these projects will amount to $ 17 million," Martirosyan said.
Vardan Martirosyan also informed that this year the process of evaluation of applications for participation as general contractors of the construction project of the electricity transmission line Armenia-Georgia will begin. According to the schedule, the results of the tender and the conclusion of contracts with the winners will be summarized at the end of September 2017.
