ArmInfo. In Jan-Oct 2017 the industrial produce in Armenia grew 16.2% (versus 8.9$ annual growth a year ago), totaling 361.8 bln AMD( $744.9mln). Only for March mining sector grew from 11.7% to 133.4 bln AMD($ 275.2mln).
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the growth of industrial sector is based on dynamic development of processing industry at the background of maintained growth of mining sector.
In Jan-Oct 2017 versus the same period of 2016, mining industry and open pit mining increased 13.8% (versus 27,7% growth a year before) to 76.8bln AMD. In March alone, the mining industry output totaled 30bln drams with a 25% growth y-o-y. Manufacturing industry increased 21,4% y-o-y (vs 0.5% decline a year before) to 202.2bln drams, monthly growth from 16.2% to 79.6 bln AMD.
In Jan-Oct 2017, chemical industry output fell by 44.8%, production of machines and equipment - by 5.3%, In the meantime, jewelry output rose 2.7 -fold, production of electric appliances - for 3 times, beverages-43.6%, printed products - by 37.1%, pharmaceuticals 32.4%, base metal products 32.2%. In the manufacturing industry segment, food output made up 59bln AMD, base metals - 41.2 bln AMD, cigarettes - 32.1bln AMD, and beverages - 28.1 bln AMD.
The supply of electric power, gas, steam and conditioned air increased by 6.9% in Jan- Oct 2017 versus Jan-Oct 2016 (vs 18% rise a year before) to 76.8bln drams.
In Jan-Oct 2016, the revenues from water supply, waste disposal and recycling grew 8.8% (vs 9.3% growth a year before) to 5.9 bln.
