ArmInfo. The volume of attracted investments by Armenian Banks grew by 19.8% per annum to 2.414 trillion AMD by April 2017.During Q1 the volume deposits grew insignificantly-only for 0.1%.
According to the Central Bank, provided to ArmInfo by National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia, in the structure of deposits the currency component grew by 11.9% annually to 1.520 trillion AMD, AMD-41.9% to 894 bln AMD, quarter fall of currency investments by 2.4% with AMD growth for 4.5%. The share of currency deposits in the total volume of bank deposits traditionally prevails over the share of AMD deposits - 63% and 37% respectively.
In bank deposit, the share of residents amounted 74.6% or 1.802 trillion AMD (15.1%, for Q1 for 2.3%), non-residents - 25.4% or 611.8.4 billion AMD (36.1% growth per annum).
In the structure of deposits from residents, the share of demand deposits was 27.7% or 499.7 billion AMD, while the share of term deposits - 72.3% or 1.3trillion AMD. Demand deposits for the year increased by 11.9%, while time deposits showed a more significant annual growth by 16.4%, only for quarter for 3%.
The investment of population in Armenian banks is 1.2 trillion AMD annually increasing for 12.9%. Quarter investments decreased for 1.7%.
According to statistical data, in average, the rate interest on AMD deposits in April formed at the level of 9.21% against 9.82% in 2016(at the rate of AMD by 31.03.2017 483.45 AMD/USD1).
