ArmInfo. The currency interbank of Armenia slightly increased its volume from May 10 to May 12, only by 2%, after the recession almost 2 times a week earlier. In parallel with this, the weekly uptrend in USD, EUR and RUR transactions in the intrabank foreign exchange market changed during the reporting period to a downward trend, both in the case of buying and selling. At the same time, the exchange currency market continues to be empty.
As a result, the AMD for the reporting week changed its mood for strengthening from 485 to 484 AMD/USD1, similarly being converted to the EUR - from 532 to 526 AMD/EUR1, but at the same time becoming devalued to the RUR - from 8.4 to 8.5 AMD/RUR1.
As the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo, on May 10-12, transactions in the amount of $ 6.1 million at the weighted average rate of 484.16 AMD/USD1 (against the previous 484.72) were conducted at the currency interbank market. Currency interbank within a short week started it with large volumes - $ 2.3-2.8 million, reducing them on Friday to $ 1 million. At the same time, in the intrabank foreign exchange market for the reporting week, the volume of buying/selling USD from 2-14% growth was replaced by 32.8-32% decline, the EUR - from 13-15% growth to 54-19.3% decline, the RUR - from 1.5-17.5% growth to 45.5 -38.7% decline. As a result, $ 54.1 million was purchased at the average exchange rate of 483.60 AMD/USD1, EUR 4.9 million at the average exchange rate of 524.76 AMD/EUR1 and 551.3 million RUR at the average rate of 8.35 AMD/RUR1, and sold $ 56.4 million at an average rate of 485.12 AMD/USD1, 11.3 million EUR at an average rate of 528.33 AMD/EUR1 and 294.3 million RUR at the average rate of 8.44 AMD/RUR1.
